Wraps vs Pouches

Choosing the Right Fit: Wraps vs Pouches

Not sure which to use? Here’s a simple breakdown to help you choose.

Use a Wrap When You Need a Tight Seal

  • Cover bowls and leftovers
  • Cheese
  • Store bread and baked goods
  • Keep cut produce and heads fresh

Wraps mold around food and create a breathable seal.

Use a Pouch for Grab-and-Go Storage

  • Pack snacks and lunches
  • Store loose items like grapes or crackers
  • Easy everyday food storage
  • Travel-friendly

Pouches hold food but do not create a tight seal.

Bread Storage: What Works Best

For artisan bread and sourdough, a beeswax wrap is the best option.

Wraps create a breathable seal that helps protect the crust while preventing the bread from drying out too quickly. For best results, wrap the entire loaf tightly, making sure no exposed areas are left open.

For added protection, especially on the counter or in the pantry, store your wrapped loaf in a cotton storage bag to help shield it from light and air.

Pouches are great for short-term use like sandwiches or transporting bread, but they allow more airflow and are not ideal for storing a full loaf over time.

Bread that isn’t fully cooled or contains inclusions may mold more quickly regardless of storage methods.

Most customers use both—wraps for sealing and pouches for storage, or using as a alternative to plastic zip bags.
